Disinfection of tracheostomy tubes

  • Disinfectant (in powder form) based on Caroat (60.0 %)
  • Easy to use by mixing with water to prepare the ready-to-use solution
  • For preparation, clean the tracheostomy tube with OPTIBRUSH® CLEAN according to the instructions
  • The ready-to-use OPTICIT® disinfectant solution (3 %) used acts bactericidal (incl. MRSA), levurocidal, fungi­cidal, tuberculocidal, mycobactericidal, virucidal (enveloped viruses such as HBV, HCV, HIV, corona viruses) and against non-enveloped viruses such as noro­viruses, adenoviruses and polio viruses and is sporici­dal 
    (C. difficile): 
    • Bacteria and Candida albicans according to EN 13727, EN 14561, EN 13624, EN 14562 (low burden): 1.0 % for 10 min. 
    • TB bacteria (M. terrae) according to EN 14348 and EN 14563 (low burden): 2.0 % for 30min. 
    • Viruses (enveloped viruses such as, for example, HBV, HCV, HIV, corona viruses) and non-enveloped viruses (noroviruses, adenoviruses and polio viruses) according to EN 14476 and EN 17111 (low burden): 1.0 % for 10min. 
    • Fungi (A. brasiliensis) according to EN 13624, EN 14562 (low burden): 3.0 % for 30 min. 
    • Mycobacteria (M. avium) according to EN 14348 and EN 14563 (low burden): 3.0 % for 30 min. 
    • Spores (C. difficile) according to EN 17126 (low burden): 2 % for 30 min. 

The disinfectant OPTICIT® is a highly effective and gentle disinfectant for disinfecting tracheostomy tubes. Thanks to its special dirt-dissolving formula, even stubborn soiling caused by blood and proteins is removed gently and quickly. OPTICIT® is effective against bacteria, fungi and viruses.

OPTICIT® is available as a 100 g disinfectant powder.

The disinfectant concentrate is diluted with water to produce a disinfectant solution. A measuring spoon is included in the scope of delivery to simplify dosing.

After the disinfection bath, the cannulas must be rinsed thoroughly.
